Just walk down the hill to 1st Avenue and turn left towards Mt. Rainier. The Pergola at 1st and Yesler marks the official start of Pioneer Square. Everyone loves the <\/span><\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.undergroundtour.com\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Underground Tour<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It gives you a first-hand look at how Seattle rebuilt 22 feet above the ruins caused by the fire of 1889. \u00a0Don\u2019t miss the <\/span><\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pioneersquare.org\/experiences\/waterfall-garden-park\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Waterfall Garden Park<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (219 2nd Avenue South) which is located on the site of the first UPS headquarters. The park is tucked behind big gates\u2013 an oasis in the middle of Pioneer Square. The <\/span><\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.soundersfc.com\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seattle Sounders<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the XLVIII Super Bowl Champions, our very own <\/span><\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.seahawks.com\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seattle Seahawks<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> play at Century Link Field just south of 2nd &amp; King. Further south is Safeco Field, home of the <\/span><\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/seattle.mariners.mlb.com\/index.jsp?c_id=sea\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seattle Mariners<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u00a0Check out a game while you\u2019re in town!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are you hungry yet? If so, you\u2019re in luck! Pioneer Square has some great restaurants. Check out <\/span><\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.salumicuredmeats.com\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Salumi<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, owned by the father of celebrity chef Mario Batalli (309 Third Avenue South). It is only open on Tuesdays through Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and the line forms early, but it is worth the wait. If you can\u2019t get there, don\u2019t fret, many restaurants around town serve \u201cSalumi salami.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We love <\/span><\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thelondonplaneseattle.com\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The London Plane<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (300 Occidental Avenue South) which is described as \u201cpart cafe, part specialty foods grocery, part floral workshop.\u201d \u00a0For a fancier meal, check out Il Terrazzo Carmine, a taste of Italy tucked away\u00a0in the same building as Blue Nile, next door to Bebas Delicatessen.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For coffee, I like <\/span><\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.caffeumbria.com\/v2\/indexb.html\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cafe Umbria<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (320 Occidental Avenue South) and <\/span><\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/zeitgeistcoffee.com\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zeitgiest Coffee<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (171 S. Jackson Street).<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the mood for something more exotic? \u00a0Head east across Second Avenue to the International District (locally referred to as \u201cthe I.D.\u201d). <\/span><\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.uwajimaya.com\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Uwajimaya<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the largest Asian grocery store in the northwest and is, in a word, amazing. There is also a huge food court here serving a wide variety of Asian foods. For sushi, go to <\/span><\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.manekirestaurant.com\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maneki<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (304 6th Avenue South). This restaurant has been open since 1904 and is a huge local favorite, so make your reservations early! For Vietnamese food, treat yourself to dinner at the <\/span><\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tamarindtreerestaurant.com\/index.php\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tamarind Tree<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (1036 South Jackson Street Suite A). \u00a0Again, reservations are a must (and be sure to read the \u201crules\u201d about reservations on the website\u2013 they are strict because this place is so popular). It is located in an ugly strip mall on the edge of the I.D., but inside is beautiful, warm and inviting, and the food is spectacular and affordable. We recommend just telling the server about any food exclusions\/allergies you have and let them order for you and eat everything family style. You can\u2019t go wrong.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While you\u2019re in the I.D., also be sure to check out the <\/span><\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wingluke.org\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wing Luke Museum,<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which is affiliated with the Smithsonian (719 S. King
