multi-phase selection<\/a> process\u00a0that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, independent evaluation of candidates by the\u00a0attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area, and a good-standing\u00a0and disciplinary check.<\/p>\nIn 2003, Ms. Nelson was the first lawyer on the North Olympic Peninsula to receive the\u00a0Super Lawyer honor. She has received this prestigious award every year since 2003. She is\u00a0a past president of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association (now the Washington\u00a0State Association for Justice) and a past president of the Council of Presidents of the\u00a0American Association for Justice. She received the Distinguished Service Award from the\u00a0Clallam Pro Bono Lawyers, was twice selected as \u201cBest Attorney in Clallam County\u201d by a\u00a0Peninsula Daily News<\/em> readers\u2019 poll, and has been named a \u201cWoman of Distinction\u201d by\u00a0Soroptimist International Noon Club. She is a frequent speaker and author on insurance\u00a0coverage.<\/p>\nMs. Nelson received her bachelor\u2019s degree magna cum laude from Armstrong Atlantic\u00a0State University in Savannah, Georgia and her law degree from the University of Cincinnati\u00a0College of Law.<\/p>\n
Mr. Boyd is a member of the Board of Governors of the Washington State Association\u00a0for Justice. He is licensed to practice law in both Ohio and Washington. He is also national\u00a0trial consultant and owner of Boyd Trial Consulting. He received his undergraduate degree at\u00a0Kent State University and his law degree from The Ohio State University College of Law. Mr.\u00a0Boyd moved to Washington in 2009 and has been named a Super Lawyer every year since\u00a02012.<\/p>\n
Ms. Nelson and Mr. Boyd are based\u00a0in Seattle and also practice law in Clallam and Jefferson counties.
