SAFETY NEAR THE TRACKS Deborah Nelson+ January 17, 2017

Unlike other parts of the country, we don’t have lots of trains, but the ones we do have sometimes are in places you wouldn’t expect them.  Train collisions are nearly always avoidable if you pay attention and don’t take chances.

  1. NEVER walk on train tracks!

  2. NEVER try to “beat a train” in your car by crossing on the tracks when a train is approaching.

  3. ALWAYS be aware around train tracks and avoid using your cell phone when near one.

Remember, if you are injured by a train, the actions you take will be carefully scrutinized to determine whether you were partly at fault for your injury.
